Basic Info
Name:The Dark Adonis
Bio
Photobucket

Character: The Dark Adonis, Vyers (AKA: Mid-Boss)
Series: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, The Disgaea manga series, and a series of novels that I have not read.
Version: Disgaea: HoD, after his exit in the “good” ending
Age: I… honestly have no idea. O.o
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Vyers is a relatively tall demon with red eyes, long, pointed ears, and light purple hair reaching his mid-back. His features are very chiseled, from the aristocratic look to his face to his well-toned body. Covering that body is a black, long sleeved coat with red cuffs and collar and a gold edge, reaching just below his ribs. The edge barely covers up the beginning of his wings, which are the traditional devil style, albeit lower, and black on the outside, red on the inside. When spread they are approximately twice his length. He also wears a pair of black slacks with a dark red belt and a pair of red boots.

Personality: Flirtatious, narcissistic, and dramatic, Vyers is at the very least an eccentric. He holds love and teamwork in high regard, is extremely polite, and even thanks God (though often for what seems to be very trivial reasons). If he’s strange by human standards, he’s just as strange—if not moreso—by demon standards. And yet, despite his eccentricities, he at least has some sort of charisma about him, to have gained a reputation as a contender to the throne in the span of two years when he’d been a nobody before, get a castle, and grab a few followers. Granted, he lost all of this as soon as Laharl came by and dubbed him “Mid-Boss,” but still…

It’s obvious enough that he’s persistent, considering that he hasn’t given up his attempts to attain the throne. As of Vyers’s first humiliating defeat, he dubbed Laharl his rival and has no plans to roll over and accept defeat. The only problem is that Laharl and company (and everyone else ever) seems to catch him at just the wrong time… like when he’s having sudden illnesses that are totally not faked.

Okay, so it’s fair to say he has some pretty failtastic tendencies. But, for him, the more you focus on them the better. In reality, Vyers is an extremely capable demon, quite intelligent, and fairly perceptive when it comes to the feelings of others. That’s not to say he doesn’t still have his faults. He’s just as narcissistic and selfish as he is in his “Mid-Boss” persona, and he is somewhat of an eccentric, but to a much, much more muted degree. He’s also incredibly emotional and doesn’t tend to hide when he’s feeling angry or upset.

But, most of all, he’s a drama whore. He loves having attention heaped upon him and will pull off dramatic entrances and speeches from nowhere in order to make sure he gets it. He’s very much an actor, which tends to make figuring out just how serious he’s being very difficult.

NOTE: Due to events in Paixao (being exposed and all), Vyers has defaulted to his more serious personality. It's, uh... a long story.

Abilities/Weaponry: Vyers is quite intelligent, able to come up with plans quickly and keep them secret, even after they have been completed. His persistence and dedication is enough to be an ability all its own. Despite the odds being overwhelmingly not in his favor, he will continue to valiantly fight on, even if past results have shown that he probably won’t win.

As far as battle goes, Vyers, being a demon, is much stronger than a normal human would be. He is quick, and skilled with hand-to-hand combat, but can also fight with a sword when necessary. He has four main skills:

Adonic Shot: He charges up a large ball of blue energy above his head before shooting it at his opponent.

Adonic Blast: Vyers leaps into the air as a stream of petals rushes forth, cutting up the enemy.

Adonic Fury: Vyers splits into four and surrounds the enemy before he and the Vyers-Clones attack with a series of kicks. Afterwards, they point towards the sky and a giant beam of light erupts from the ground underneath the enemy.

Adonic Buster: He jumps into the air and rides a large, crescent-shaped meteor back to the ground.

Weaknesses: When compared to other demons, while much stronger than the average underling, Vyers isn’t insanely powerful either, perhaps ending up only above average. However, Vyers’ pride is his biggest weakness. He can easily be brought into a rage with repeated insults to his person, thus becoming rather sloppy in attacks, or will make a tactical retreat when he begins to lose, often making up poor excuses for doing so.

History: Approximately two years before the beginning of Disgaea, the overlord of the Netherworld, King Krichevskoy, fought against an invading force from an alternate netherworld, Baal, the Lord of Terror. Krichevskoy succeeded in locking Baal away, but was gravely injured in the process. Returning to his castle, he came in contact with one of his vassals, Etna, who was ready to sacrifice her life to save him, like Krichevskoy’s wife had done for his son Laharl. Etna was stopped, however, and Krichevskoy died of his wounds.

He was later revived at the hands of Seraph Lamington, though he was far less powerful than he was before. Though grateful for Lamington’s deed, he returned to the Netherworld, knowing of the chaos that would be going on due to the sudden death of its overlord, adopting the name Vyers to hide his identity.

During the two years his son was asleep, Vyers was challenging and defeating numerous challengers for the throne, earning him a little bit of notoriety. At the same time, he spoke with Seraph Lamington, eventually fleshing out an idea to help bring the Netherworld and Celestia together through the meeting of Laharl and the angel trainee Flonne.

Vyers first met up with Laharl again in the castle he had acquired. The two fought against one another (an event prompted by Vyers receiving the nickname “Mid-Boss”) with Vyers losing and running off to fight Laharl another day. He would engage Laharl many more times, testing Laharl’s strength and character to see if he had what it took to become a great overlord.

When Laharl was ready to sacrifice himself to bring Flonne back from being a flower due to the Seraph’s punishment, Vyers intervened, letting him know that Flonne would return to normal shortly. Once they were reunited, Vyers took his leave, disappearing in a brilliant flash of white light alongside the Queen.
